Jo Langwell is a
native Texan that grew up in Dallas. She had originally planned to be a
school teacher but her life took a different turn. So teaching history to
children through Texana is a special treat. She also enjoys telling about
the colorful history of Texas to anyone who is not from here.
Jo portrays one of her ancestors who was part Choctaw Indian and came to
Texas during the time of the Republic. She can often be found at out
campsites working in the kitchen area and explaining how her ancestor had to
cook and take care of a house and family.
In addition to her work with Texana, Jo is an active member of the DAR.
