John B. Jones was a former Confederate officer who, in
1874, was asked to command the Frontier Battalion of the newly reformed Texas Rangers.
During the time Major Jones commanded the Frontier Battalion, the rangers fought Indians
as well as put down feuds among cattle owners and began the battle to stop the outlaws,
like Sam Bass, who were loose in Texas. Major Jones can tell the early days story of the
175 year old Texas Rangers or present his own life story.
Mr. Bob Welch brings us
this wonderful story!
